Comic-Con 2013:
The Ender's Game Exhibit

Whether or not the controversy over the upcoming Lionsgate adaptation of Orson Scott Card's science fiction novel touches you, there is no doubt the film looks impressive. In a strange cross-promotion at Comic-Con, HGTV gave their real estate over to a tie-in with Lionsgate (last year they had shared it with Disney for Frankenweenie.) At least with Ender's Game, there's a moment of actual "home," but hard to see the garden.

At any rate, it was a pretty thorough display of movie props and set pieces, reflecting the hard work of hundreds of people who themselves have nothing to do with Card's politics. So appreciate the work, and like many displays that blow through Comic-Con, you have to wonder if it wouldn't be fun for it to tour to a few cities across the U.S...

Trailers played non-stop outside the large exhibition tent..

Enter the Wiggin apartment... I admit that somehow in my head their home was more futuristic.

Come to think of it, I've seen mention of Abigail Breslin as Ender's sister... is his older brother in the movie at all?

Actual set pieces from Battle School...

Getting ready to leave Earth....

Welcome to Battle School!

Okay... so in the age of tablets this isn't so futuristic anymore...

Ready to enter the Arena?

An impressive display of actual costumes and props..!

Which are you?

Granted, it's offset by the Congoer with the Vampire Diaries backpack....

A close-up on the props...

Ponder your place in the universe...

And finish off with a little green screen magic....
