Get Ready For The World's End with
Shaun of the Dead Interactive Screenplay

Check it out! Relive the magic!.

Years ago at a Comic-Con, I first heard Nick Frost use the phrase "the Blood and Cornettos Trilogy" to describe Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz and whatever film was going to come next from the creative triumvirate of Frost, Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg.

For a brief moment, I thought I'd pegged it when interviewing Pegg, Wright and Jessica Stevenson for Spaced and they let slip about Paul. (And don't get me wrong -- I love that movie, it just wasn't "the third flavor.")

So now American publicists are alternately referring to it as "The Cornetto Trilogy" or "The Three Flavours Trilogy," and whatever it is, it means we're going to get the movie that will rule my summer -- The World's End. And some theaters are going to run the full trilogy on opening night, and for the first time in my life, I just may attend said marathon.

In the meantime, I am whetting my appetite by going back through this interactive screenplay which has been posted online for Shaun of the Dead. Of course, it launched the trilogy, and if I may say, I had no idea what the heck I was in for with these guys. I hadn't yet seen Spaced, and my brother and I went to a screening in San Francisco with Wright and Pegg doing a Q&A afterward.

It isn't so much that they changed my sensibilities that night as reminded me of them. And I've been a fan ever since.

But Nick Frost and I are not the same person.

Though I'll admit I look more like him now than I did then.
