Yep.
It's a mess all right...

RAW
I got in with the Woman’s Battle Royal and it was
a mess. Victoria was the best out there and she was workin’
with a bunch of dead weight. Ashley at least looked really
hot. Trish came out to watch and got a really good pop.
Bad segment.
For some reason,
they had Hacksaw actually wrestling against Edge. Edge did
a good job as this wasn’t a good match, but at least
it felt like a legit match that was worked with an idea
towards having a decent match. Jim can’t go, but he’s
always known the ways to work, but usually things got in
the way. Here he used the skills he learned working for
Bill Watts and made the most out of what he was doin’.
Edge won and then beat on Hacksaw with the board. He then
challenged Mick Foley because he counted his shoulders down
in the match against John Cena.
The
Big Show did a good interview talking about wanting to Main
Event WrestleMania. It was a good interview where he talked
about winning to get to the Main Event and to stop HHH from
getting there.
John
Cena did a piece about going to India and being a big star.
Wrestling is big in India, and has been since the 1920s.
He’s a busy guy. He’s been around the world
on promotion tours and he’s the best face the WWE
has right now around the world.
Kane and Chris
Masters had a match. It wasn’t good, these two have
had beeter matches with each other, and the finish was basically
Kane keeping The MasterLock off of him and then getting
a boot for the pin. The DePush of The Masterpiece continues.
In a
sad bit of good news, Shelton Benjamin beat Ric Flair for
the IC title. The match was actually pretty good, with Flair
doin’ his thang and Shelton being great, but the Mama
Benjamin stuff continues and he had to use Mama’s
Oxygen tank to get the win.
Flair
using his blatant cheating is a good gimmick, as they make
mention of it and it seems like a conscious way that he
overcomes his age. It’s a great bit that they came
up with to cover his few weaknesses (ages, speed limitations)
and accentuate his positives (match lay-out, pacing). Shelton
wins the belt, but he’s still held back because of
the gimmick.

Man,
I hope he lands right.

The
Spirit Squad took on Shawn Michaels in a match that featured
a great ending. The guys in the SS worked over Shawn after
he was about to hit Sweet Chin Music and ended up getting
beat on until Mr. Marty Jannety made the save.
That’s
right, Mr. Marty Jannety managed to get himself hired back
and looks to be involved with the McMahon vs. Michaels Mania
program. I’m not sure if it’ll be a Tag Match
(Shane and Vince vs. The Rockers) or if Marty will turn
on Shawn and go with Vince. Either one makes sense.
Carlito
somehow managed to deliver a promo while he was beating
a jobber. That’s a new one, though Lawler did commentary
during one of his own matches. He won with his finisher,
but I don’t remember what they call it. Carlito’s
Way?
The Triple Threat
Match between HHH, The Big Show and Rob Van Dam was OK,
probably a bit better than Flair/Shelton. RVD keeps getting
better. Show starts fast and gets the advantage with a SideSlam
and beats on H a little. I think the feud between the two
of them has been OK, if overly long. RVD gets back into
it and even helps H take on Show. RVD gets some good kicks
in, but H doesn’t seem to be motivated enough for
this one. H got a Pedigree, but RVD stopped him. RVD gets
the From Splash and H almost pulls off the ref, but instead
grabs RVD and gives him a Pedigree for the win. It’s
not a shock that the guy the crowd has been really into
lately gets pinned by HHH, the Boss’s fave. Go figure.
Well, it happens.
Not a great show, but I wasn’t annoyed that I watched
it.
That’s
another week.
