They
Say: Legends of Wrestling features signature entrances
and taunts for each of its 70+ Legends and an array of bone-breaking
matches, including Table, First Blood, Iron Man, Hardcore,
Ladder, Cage and Battle Royal. The latest installment of
Acclaim's wrestling series will feature the Ultimate Warrior,
Macho Man, Sting and 70 other legendary wrestlers.
We
say: This is the third generation of the Legends series
by Acclaim. Each installment has shown improvements over
the previous one. Showdown looks to be on track to do the
same. With more wrestlers than you can shake a chair at,
we say "Ooohhhhhh yeeeaaaahhhhh!"

Say,
has anyone ever noticed that Ultimate Warrior looks
a lot like Amazo? |

Sid
Meier's Pirates! E3 2004 Preview
Platform:
PC
Publisher: Atari
Developer: Firaxis Games
Release Date: 11/16/2004
Genre: Action
They
Say: Sid Meier's Pirates! is among the most popular
and loved titles in gaming history. Originally released
in 1987, Pirates! received unprecedented critical acclaim
for crossing multiple game genres to offer unique, unrivaled
gameplay options. Pirates! set the industry standard for
innovative game design with its unique blend of open-ended
role-playing, real-time adventures and thrilling action
sequences.
Having
been inducted into the Hall of Fame by both Computer Gaming
World and Gamespy, and voted one of the top 20 all-time
games by Computer Gaming World Magazine, Pirates! is recognized
as one of the greatest games ever created.
In
Pirates! you take the leading role of a Pirate Captain
in the 17th century Caribbean amassing fortune and fame
in an attempt to seize your rightful place as one of the
most revered (and feared!) pirates in history. Test your
skills as a sea captain exploring the high seas and exotic
ports in a richly detailed 3D world. Overtake the enemy
and seize valuable booty. Exchange plank-shattering broadsides
in fierce naval battles, and engage in duels with worthy
opposing captains.
As
your reputation and skills grow, so will the size and
quality of your crew, and your ability to take on larger
enemy ships, raid and plunder heavily fortified ports,
and locate ancient treasure. There's a whole cast of interesting
and dangerous characters to meet, mysteries to solve,
exotic island destinations to discover, and powerful alliances
to forge!
We
say: I agree, the original Pirates by Sid Meier and
Microprose is one of the greatest PC games of the last
millennium. It invented open ended gameplay and really
let the gamer decide what type of adventure they wanted
to have. No two games were ever the same. Graph that in
with modern graphics, sound and some enriched plotlines
and you have the one game I'm looking forward to almost
as much as Half-Life 2 next year.
