Disney Infinity 2.0 - The Official Launch
Ric Bretschneider is furiously cataloguing screen captures and preparing analysis of what Disney Interactive (along with Clark Gregg, Samuel L. Jackson and Joe Quesada) announced this morning.
We knew it was coming. They'd teased us with a shield. But today they showed us what Disney Infinity 2.0 will look like, at least as far as The Avengers are concerned.
The video shows game play advanced of what we have in the already impressive first version. And that doesn't go far enough to explain how far a leap forward they've actually made.
What we know for sure is that 2.0 will have native versions for PS4 and XBoxOne. We know that the starter kit will contain three Avengers -- Thor, Iron Man and Captain America. We know that Brian Michael Bendis worked on the game play. And most importantly for those who have invested already...
We know that all our existent figures and discs will work in 2.0. I don't need Iron Man and the Two Gun Kid -- I have The Lone Ranger! We shall see how much further the two systems integrate, but... holy crap. This is great looking stuff.
And though the presentation focused on Marvel heroes, specifically The Avengers (over and over), notice that yes, as we predicted, The Guardians of the Galaxy and Spider-Man are there, too. There will be regular Disney characters, too, in addition to those we'll port up from the first version.
