Lost
The
Season Three Preview
Season
3 is just around the corner – well, actually to hear
the producers discuss the new programming schedule, it’s
more like Season 2.5. Either way, the rumor mill speculation
and chatter has already begun. What are the Others up to?
Did Locke, Eko, and Desmond die? What was that white flash?
Rather than dwell
on the rumors, we’re going to look at facts, and let
you fill in the blanks.
Henry
Ian Cusick, better known as Desmond to fans of the series,
has confirmed that he will be appearing regularly next season.
Now, although we want to see a living and breathing Desmond
as much as everyone else, it feels necessary to point out
that Cusick’s news doesn’t confirm that Desmond
survived. Remember, we are talking about a series that deals
heavily in flashbacks. That said, a season's worth of Desmond
flashbacks seems unlikely.
The
Lost crew has been seeking a new love interest
to complicate things on the island, and it looks like they’ve
found what they were looking for in Elizabeth Mitchell.
She’s rumored to be playing Juliet, a potential love
interest for Jack.
With
producer Carleton Cuse already having gone on record stating
that Kate will have made her romantic decision by the sixth
episode, it makes us wonder if her choice may be Jack? Why
else would they toss someone new into the mix?
Don’t
worry ladies, male fans are not the only ones with a fresh
new … er, face to look at this coming season. Rodrigo
Santoro, best known as Laura Linney’s love interest
in Love Actually, is joining the cast of Losties
this season. It looks like Daniel Dae Kim, Josh Holloway,
and Naveen Andrews may be getting some competition this
season.
Those
paying attention to The Lost Experience have likely
uncovered the meaning behind DHARMA: an anagram for the
Department of Heuristics and Research on Material Applications.
Don’t
even try to tell us you saw that one coming.
While
the experience remains baffling at times, it sounds like
the rewards will be growing exponentially. The rumor is
that players will learn the meaning behind the infamous
numbers before the start of Season 3. That may just be enough
to get us playing along more regularly.
We’ve
also learned that Lost fans will be treated to
an Others-centric Season 3, but what else is on the plate?
How about more of the smoke monster, polar bears, Desmond
and Penny’s relationship, the truth behind Locke’s
paralysis, Libby’s reason for being in the asylum,
Jack’s tattoos and the healing powers of the island?
Things
will hit the ground running this fall, with a short break
in December followed by a sprint to the finale. The biggest
and best news? When new episodes air, we won’t have
to wade through re-runs.
We can
hardly wait.
