For
weeks, rumored insiders at Warner Brothers have said that
they were looking at a television star to play the Man of
Steel in the Christopher Nolan-produced Superman movie (or
perhaps trilogy). Fans were assured that it was exactly
who we would hope. Except none of us could agree on that.
So this
week the rumor mill claimed it would be Jon Hamm, star of
Mad Men, which, honestly, would be exactly
who I'd hope. To promote The Town, Hamm appeared
with Regis & Kelly this morning, and they asked him
about it. He calls it an internet rumor, but he'd sure like
to talk with Warner about it. Kudos to Kelly Ripa for agreeing
with us that he would be a fantastic choice.
Of course,
he has one piece of work in his resume that may mean he
can't play Superman; after all, he's proven himself to secretly
be Superman's worst enemy...
