From
Curry To Queen
|
But
how does he look with a goatee? |
Okay,
so we're not going to get to see Mercy Reef, the
Aquaman television series, on the CW in the Fall. According
to TV Guide, however, Smallville producers Millar
and Gough have shown mercy to Justin Hartley, and will be
setting him up to don a different pair of green tights this
year.
For
at least seven episodes of Smallville this year,
Hartley will be playing Oliver Queen, the man most people
know better as Green Arrow.
According
to Alfred Gough in a TV Guide interview, "He will start
to form the nascent Justice League. He's trying to find
like-minded people with special powers and put a more formal
structure in place. Ultimately Clark will see the value
of what he is trying to do but as he's gotten older, Clark
has become more cautious. He will always be there to help
out, but he doesn't want to be part of a formalized organization."
Before
fans get in a tizzy, do remember that for a long time in
DC continuity, this was Superman's stance toward the Justice
League. And in Mark Waid's Justice League: Year One,
Oliver Queen secretly bankrolled the team.
Of course,
according to Smallville mythology, Bart Allen is
already out there also looking for others with powers, but
there's no word yet on if that character will return to
the show. This move does perhaps give us a glimpse of the
ending of the series, with not just a sense of the Superman
to come.
Please,
please don't bring in David Ogden Stiers as J'onn J'onnz.
