The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Trailer
Michael Bay got a lot of crap when he got ahold of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. First there were rumors that they themselves were aliens (the trailer makes it seem like that was thrown out as an idea). Then the shock wore off and it was -- Michael Bay?
But like Transformers, I'm not as involved in the franchise. I had seen the original comics at my local shop, thought it was a funny title, but never picked it up. And I never quite got back into them when they hit big.
I respect that people hold the Turtles near and dear to their heart. I just am not sure what is a gross violation across the three or four different comic book versions, the live-action movies, a CG movie, two or three different animated series and at least one live-action TV series that crossed over with Power Rangers. They all survived.
And we might survive Megan Fox as April O'Neill. Nothing in the trailer bothers me, though I admit that even with my limited knowledge, William Fichtner as Shredder seems like a stretch. For kids, the joke at the end of the trailer will probably land well. So...
