Comic-Con 2014:
The Marvel TV Panel -- Will Lucy Lawless Show?
On Friday, July 25 from 3 to 4 p.m. in Ballroom 20, Jeph Loeb will be hosting a panel talking about Marvel's television projects. After all, he is head of Marvel Television.
What Comic-Con's schedule says, however, is that he will be joined by talent from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and its mid-season replacement/alternate Agent Carter, but nothing too specific. We have to assume and hope that Loeb will also be able to give us some insight into the upcoming Netflix series Daredevil, starring Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock.
Maybe Cox will even be on hand, though it does seem from recent reports that he's pretty busy actually filming. Wouldn't Comic-Con be a great place to debut Cox in costume?
The news that seems to really have the Fanverse a-twitter, however, comes from TV Guide, not Comic-Con. Lucy Lawless, the former Warrior Princess, will be joining Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for an unspecified number of episodes.
No word on what role she'll actually be playing, but it just would not seem right if at some point she wasn't in some kind of adversarial role against May (Ming-Na Wen), if only because those two strong actors have terrific physical skills as well. We've seen May be a bad-ass; Lucy Lawless cannot help but be.
It would make for another great announcement if Lawless, no stranger to Comic-Con, were to show and talk about joining the cast.
However, Lawless is not commemorated on the poster that Marvel will be handing out at their booth all Convention long -- that's Booth #2329 if you could not stumble across its massiveness. Painted by artist Matt Ferguson, the poster unites Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. across time, or at least to face their past in the guise of Agent Carter (Hayley Atwell), who we'd also hope appears at Comic-Con.
