The Artists

If you're a comics fan, one thing that makes going to a smaller regional show (as opposed to Comic-Con) is that it often becomes much easier to find the artists you like. Almost conversely, as San Jose's Big Wow! Comic Fest gets bigger each year, it attracts bigger names in comics art, possibly also lured in by Comic Fest investor and superstar artist Frank Cho.
We can only call this observation, not 100% fact, but it did seem like fans were flocking to buying original art in addition to books and toys. Everywhere you turned people were carefully holding onto prints they had purchased. (Even Kid McCaw decided against toys this year in order to get a print from Josh Adams, Neal's son, of Matt Smith as The Doctor.)
