With Dan Slott and Mike Allred riding the board, this chapter in Marvel NOW! seems likely to have people asking, why has this taken so long?

From the short story in the Marvel NOW! one-shot, this does seem like Marvel is positioning the Silver Surfer as a sort of Doctor Who figure. He has a human companion to whom he's showing the universe. Along the way they will save civilizations, right wrongs, and no doubt, have fun.
