Batman Eternal:
The Brightest Bat-Flame In The DCU
We are 13 issues into the Batman Weekly event, Batman Eternal, and it hasn't disappointed.
This is easily the most underrated Bat title, if not the most underrated DC title. The writing crew, overseen by Scott Snyder and James Tynion IV, has taken advantage of the weekly schedule and delivered a Bat Tale that is flying at a break neck pace.
With new blood causing trouble at the GCPD, Commissioner Gordon under arrest, the return of a gang boss starting an underworld war, strange events at Arkham... Batman just cannot keep up with it all. He has no choice but to call for help; even though he is loath to do it.
The pace allows the reader to check in with Bruce's supporting cast, and its the best its been in years. If you have been wary of the book, give it a try; I am confident that you won't be disappointed.
Kris Koller works at Earth-2 Comics Northridge, 8967 Reseda Blvd. in Northridge, California, always happy to help you find the book you're looking for. You can also venture into Earth-2 Comics at 15017 Ventura Blvd in Sherman Oaks.
As always, look to your local comics shop for the books discussed here on Fanboy Planet -- Earth-2 in Sherman Oaks and Northridge, The Comic Bug in Manhattan Beach, Illusive Comics & Games in Santa Clara, Hijinx Comics in Willow Glen would all be great places, and many do mail-order business.
