Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday we give you the scoop on what's
happening in and out of the wrestling ring. Somedays it's even funny!

Raw Preview
It's Monday and that means the WWF is going to give it their best
shot at entertaining us. Screw Monday Night Football when WWF.com
is already advertising Booker T, Test, and Rob Van Dam vs. the Undertaker,
Kane and Chris Jericho. Tajiri and Torrie Wilson will take on Tazz
and Stacy Keibler in a rematch from Heat. The "Where's Steve-o?" mystery
continues. And in what promises to be the fall down laughing segment
of the night, "The Big Show is tonight's Raw host at WWF NY." Damn
you, Ally McBeal, damn you straight to hell!
Ross Report
Jim Ross made his weekly posting to WWF.com too late for me to crib
from on Friday so here are the highlights for you to enjoy.
Bob Holly had surgery a week ago Thursday to remove
the plate in his arm. Bob is back home. He's doing well from his surgery,
but he's still looking to be away from in-ring competition for about
six months.
Shawn Stasiak saw a specialist on Monday, and the
early indications from the radiologist are that if he has an athletic
hernia, it is mild and probably will not require surgery. Or they
think it could be an intense groin pull. He'll see a surgeon on Monday
for a full evaluation. A hernia with surgery would keep him out six
to eight weeks.
Billy Kidman has been released to return to work
by his orthopedic doctor, and he will be going to Ohio Valley Wrestling
in Louisville, Ky., on Monday for a week of in-ring conditioning just
to get the ring rust off and to get Billy ready to go on television
and house shows.
Triple H's quadriceps tendon rehabilitation is going
very well. He is looking at getting in the ring to do some exercises
probably next month, maybe November, but it still looks to be like,
unofficially, his return date will be December.
Rikishi's therapist says he is very happy with his
progress on his injured shoulder. Rikishi originally weighed in at
about 350 pounds, which we believe is a little bit heavy for him.
We're hoping to get Rikishi on a very organized and sensible weight
loss program. (FATTY! FATTY!)
Chris Benoit's therapy is continuing at home. He's
still several months away from returning, but he's having no complications
and is doing a variety of personal and on-sale appearances for the
World Wrestling Federation.
Jerry Lynn is about two months away from returning
from knee surgery, but his rehab is also on target and seems to be
moving well.
Kurt Angle's book seems to be doing very well. You
can buy
it here.
In the next few weeks the WWF will be sending Tough
Enough winner Nidia down to OVW. She'll join Victoria, Sharmel Sullivan
and Jazz in training. Maven will go to Cincinnatito train with Les
Thatcher, along with Dave Taylor. "Maven has the "it" factor, I think.
We think that Maven has charisma that you can't manufacture and he
is certainly athletic, and I think with his character, he has a great
chance to make it. I don't know Nidia as well. She has kind of an
exotic look. She's a tough young lady who went through all the training,
so we'll see how she endures. It's not to say that we won't be doing
something with the other three that didn't win. It's something that
we are currently discussing, but no decision has been made."
Undertaker & Kane and Kronik was short and it had
to be (during Unforgiven.) Certainly the situation with Kronik just
did not work out here. Bryan Clark will not be utilized any longer.
Brian Adams will be sent to either Louisville or Cincinnati to work
with some of the students on their TV shows. There are no plans to
bring him back to RAW or SmackDown! at this time.
Goldberg Slams WWF
Goldberg spent some time in New York last week signing autographs
for rescue workers and volunteers. Goldberg said he was shocked
that no WWF wrestlers had visited the New York victims. "After inquiring
about whether or not any WWF wrestlers had been to New York to offer
support for the policemen and firefighters, it's amazing that, even
though the WWF is basically based in New York City (Stamford CT),
none had been by there. Or at least to the places we had been, and
with the people we saw and spoke with. That's disgusting. People
ask me why I'm not working for the WWF. Well, I think that explains
it." Goldberg then rode off on a high horse.
Helen Hart in Hospital
Helen Hart, Mother of the Hart family, was rushed to a Calgary area
hospital after collapsing Friday afternoon. It was initially feared
that Helen Hart had suffered a stroke, but the family now believes
that the illness is diabetes related. Stampede Wrestling has cancelled
their show scheduled for Saturday night.
Linda McMahon: She's Nasty Hot!
Today's Washington Times had a brief piece noting that Linda McMahon,
president and CEO of the WWF, has been named to the board of the
National Foundation for Women Legislators. I have nothing funny
to say about this that doesn't involve lesbianism, so I'll just
move along.

The Brain Speaks
Chairshots Radio (no relation) had Bobby Heenan as their guest this
week. The Brain mentioned that he is writing a book and it should
be done by the end of the year. They are aiming for a late summer
release next year, probably in August. In it he plans to tell a
lot of old stories about his life in wrestling. He told one such
story on the show and it goes like this: Bobby had to do a wrestling
show in Canada. He asked to stay in the U.S. and drive from Detroit
to Toronto. He took a bunch of midgets who were on the show with
him and he put one of them in the trunk. When they got to Windsor
to pay the toll Bobby got out, beat on the trunk, and the Midget
popped up and handed the person fifty cents.
Midgets is funny. See you Wednesday.
