Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday we give you the scoop on what's
happening in and out of the wrestling ring. Somedays it's even funny!

Raw Thoughts
Raw was hit and miss
on Monday night. The first 90 minutes were mostly miss, but the show
ended with something that is destined to be a classic Raw moment. Does
a hot ending make an otherwise weak show good? Maybe. The show focused
a lot on comedy skits, opening with a 6 women tag match. Yawn. Then
The Rock brought out a midget pretending to be Booker T. I’m sure we
all know that midgets = comedy, but the timing was off on the whole
segment. Long awkward pauses really dragged out what could have been
a quick, funny, 5 minute thing. Then Booker whipped Tajiri for 5 minutes
followed by The Rock easily beating Lance Storm. What good does it do
for Booker and Rock to so easily beat two very popular mid-card stars?
DDP got beaten by Sara. I told you to go to the bathroom during that
match during my Monday preview, didn’t I? We saw the return of the Stephanie-Test
angle. While I like that the WWF takes steps to create some kind of
continuity for long time fans, do all the explanations have to be so
lame? Finally we hit the final segment of the evening. The Alliance
was all in the ring singing to Steve Austin about how much they appreciate
them when Kurt Angle drove a milk truck to the ring and hosed everyone
down with milk. Now, long time fans will know that this is a complete
parody of the Austin vs. McMahon feud of a few years back when Austin
drove the beer truck to the ring and hosed down The Corporation members.
The beauty of it was that you didn’t need to know that in order for
the bit to work. A lame show topped off with a brilliant ending. Viewers
must have agreed because the ratings were the same this week as last
(5.2).
Rey Mysterio Jr. Rumor Killer
Rumors swirled around the Internet last week when
someone discovered that ReyMysterio.com redirects to the WWFE owned
WCW.com. Since Mysterio met with Jim Ross a few weeks ago to discuss
a contract, people assumed that everything went well and that Rey would
be joining the WWF soon. Well, wrong. Reymysterio.com was an asset of
WCW and thus one of the things that the WWF got when they bought them.
Other WCW star websites, such as KevinNash.com, also redirect
you to WCW.com. While I’m killing rumors: Elvis is dead, Paul McCartney
is not, and I never had sex with Jami Fisher in High School. (Sorry
for starting that one, Jami.)
HHH Speaks
WWF.com features an interview with Triple H updating the status of his injury (a torn quadriceps muscle in his left leg ) and with his thoughts on SummerSlam.
Here are the highlights:
- HHH
was backstage at SummerSlam but has been trying to avoid travel since
it slows down his recovery.
- “I'm
hoping another four weeks from now, I can start to be able to move
quick enough where I can start to jog lightly and start to increase
my movement. Then
in four to six weeks, I can run so that I can start to get back into
doing stuff that I'm going to have to be doing when I get back in
the ring.
- “I
sleep naked. All the way nude. Nothing. No skivvies. No nothing. Buck
naked. Yeah, my knee's naked too. Everything's nude.” (That was more
than any of us really needed to know!)
- Why was he at SummerSlam? "Well, it's like if I would have
stayed in Birmingham I would have had to pay to see the Pay-Per-View.
This is a way for me to see it free, without having to pay or anything
like that. Plus, they always have sweet catering” My Mother always
said that no one likes a smart ass. See, Mom, I was listening.
- On
making his PPV debut at SummerSlam 1995: “Yeah, against Bob Holly.
He hit me so hard with a dropkick I can't remember any of it. Bob's
pretty stiff you know.” (He means that Bob hits hard, you perv.)

Larry King with Chyna Delayed
Due to ongoing CNN coverage of the Gary Condit/Chandra Levy situation,
Joanie Laurer's appearance on CNN's "Larry King Live" has
been rescheduled for next Wednesday, August 29 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern.
West Wing is a rerun tonight as well, so feel free to get s***faced
after King of the Hill.
Storm on Southwest
This isn’t really
news, but I found it funny. Lance Storm’s latest update on his website
is really just a two page rant against Southwest Airlines. Go read
it and have a good laugh.
See you party people on Friday.
