Welcome
to a special Falls Count Anywhere Judgment Day preview. My
name is Chris, and I am still shocked that RAW did a 4.4!
Judgment
Day is a PPV that follows one that didn't live up to expectations.
This time, expectations are low, gimmick matches run throughout
the card, and I'm thinking we may get a few big deals going.
Here's the match by match
Test/Scott
Steiner vs. Le Resistance- No, no, no, no
I am not pleased.
This could be fairly entertaining in how awful it will be.
Just watching Scott Steiner move hurts me deeply. The Frogs
get the win, and we all lose.
Sable
vs. Torrie in a bikini contest- Well, all the men will be
pleased
or annoyed that this didn't take place in 1998
when Sable was not yet fully stretched. Torrie wins but then
has something unspeakable done to her.
Woman's
Title Match: Jazz vs. Victoria vs. Trish vs. Jacqueline- This
could be something of a sleeper. Jacky has had good matches
with Trish, as has Victoria. Jazz is fairly good at times.
I think, with smart booking, this will be a winner. Then again,
with the RAW writers on the case, that may be asking a bit
too much. Victoria walks away with it.
Chris
Benoit & Spanky & Rhyno vs. Chuck Palumbo & Johnny
Stamboli & John Cena- Well, it has build going in, and
Benoit, Rhyno, Spanky, and Cena have entertained me of late.
I am not looking to get a Budokan main event out of these
six, but it should at least be good. Cena gets the win to
keep his monster push alive.
Team Angle
vs. Los Guererros- OK, Chavo is hurt and will be out for at
least four months. If that's not bad enough, they have tied
up most of the talent who would work well in a ladder match
in other places. I am guessing they either pull something
out of the air, like Benoit wrestling twice, or debut someone
new. Don't know who it's going to be, but there is no way
Team Angle drops the belts.
Mr. America
vs. Roddy Piper- Here's the thing: Piper won't get the win,
Hogan won't be unmasked, O'Haire will interfere and the match
will suck. The Americanster gets the pin.
The Return
of the Intercontinental Title Battle Royal- Battle Royals,
with the exception of the Royal Rumble, are usually bad, but
this could be booked in such a way as to be entertaining.
I'm interested in the fact that they've announced so few contestants.
Here are my odds on the ones that I am certain about.
Chris
Jericho- 5 to 3
Christian- 5 to 3
RVD- 3 to 1
Kane- 4 to 1
Booker T- 4 to 1
Goldust- 6 to 1
Test- 8 to 1
Lance Storm- 25 to 1
I think
it's obvious that they want to make the IC important, so they
have to give it to a big player. With Christian and Jericho
getting big pushes recently, and RVD looking like a big star,
I'd say they are the best choices. Booker T should make the
Battle Royal, with his health improving, but I see him as
a single step back from the belt, as his push had seriously
subsided in recent weeks. I'm thinking Jericho or Christian.
HHH vs.
Kevin Nash- Unless H gets back the magic he had in December
2000, this will be an awful, awful match. Nash is like a towering
hulk who can't move anymore. Look for Trip to sell, sell,
sell, and to stall, stall, stall during the meat of the match.
We may
get the brawling style they used this week on RAW, which,
while slow, is probably the best way to hide Nash's weaknesses.
Hey, we may even get a Michaels turn. My money is on H winning,
possibly with the help of Shawn Michaels.
Brock
Lesnar vs. The Big Show- Brock wins this without question.
The stretcher match concept is one that would allow Big Show
to do very little, and still get heat. I'm not expecting much
from this, but it will likely be better than 90% of Big Show's
matches.
All in
all, I am thinking this one will sneak up on ya and entertain.
The ladder match is something of a question mark, as is the
battle royal. Still, I think they might pull it off.
