I have
my own Yellow Line, and it's still not a good idea.

Welcome
to Falls Count Anywhere special edition. My name is Chris,
and I won! I won!
Judgment
Day
Well, it wasn't all bad, as it opened strong, but it lagged,
had too many non-wrestling segments, and ended better than
expected, though several questionable choices had been made
along the way.
The
Good
The opener was good, but far too short. Palumbo wrestling
with the cigar in his mouth was a great touch. I agree with
a lot of what I read about Benoit being wasted, and that this
match felt like a Heat match. But the crowd got into it, there
was good stuff going on and I liked it.
Eddy's
new partner is Tajiri. Team Angle looked really good in the
Ladder match, with a few innovative spots, though nothing
along the lines of when the Hardys used to regularly invent
new ways to kill themselves. The crowd was into Tajiri for
his tarantula and kicks, and chanted for Eddy. I question
giving the belts to a make-shift team, as it would seem to
devalue what they've been doing by making Team Angle into
a serious tag team force. Still, good match, with lots of
the stuff you'd expect from these guys.
I liked
the Shane Helms and Mr. America backstage bit. I know, it
was corny, but I laughed.
The women's
match makes it here by the narrowest of margins. Trish and
Victoria worked really hard. The over the top bump that Trish
took to the floor was awesome, and she looks hot bleeding
from the mouth. Jacqueline got nothing to do, and Victoria
took it easy, which is probably for the best considering her
physical condition. Jazz looked as good as normal, but was
certainly outshined by Trish. I'd say the WWE should send
Trish to Japan for a tour with AJW, if they weren't too busy
imploding.
OK, I
never thought this would go here, but Brock vs. Big Show's
ending was enough to bring it into the good. The match was
a hundred times better than any of the other BBS matches,
though the Yellow Line was not a great idea. Man, Brock better
be forklift certified. A really fun match.
The
Average
The Stone Cold and Bischoff skits in the skybox were either
funny or terrible, so I put them here. I disliked the way
it chopped up the PPV time, but they did have a few good lines.
Also, Bisch gave the worst spit take ever.
The Battle
Royal barely missed the bad, mostly because of the way the
Booker/Christian/Jericho segment worked. I wasn't a huge fan
of the match, but it moved well. I think Christian is a fine
choice, as it elevates him, gives him an instant feud, and
will help get him over as the new People's Champion.
Bikini
contest: Nice T&A, too long, and the crowd wasn't even
into it that much. I did like Torrie going the extra mile
to get the win, but the crowd seemed more into Sable. You
can't give women that hot a bad review, but it really didn't
do much.
The
Bad
Steiner and Test stunk the joint up against La Resistance.
LR is very green as a team, and the accents they use...
Steiner's
suplexes are getting sloppy. Test is Test, and the Stacey
stuff was lame.
Piper
vs. Hogan has been done a thousand times, and Mr. America
wrestles in the exact same style as Hogan. I'd have so much
more respect for this angle if Hogan came out doing planchas
and German Suplexes when he donned the hood. This was awful,
easily the worst match I've seen so far this year that didn't
involve a major injury.
You spend
all month hyping that Flair and Michaels are going to be at
ringside and then they send them to the back, mostly so Flair
wouldn't get face heat. This was awful. Nash needs to hang
it up forever, since the crowd no longer cares about him and
he's not wrestling good matches. At least the guys who unfairly
get no heat, like Lance Storm, put on solid matches every
time out.
All in
all, I liked the wrestling better than many months, but they
seem hell bent on putting on less and less wrestling and focusing
on backstage events.
I am amazed
that Brock managed to carry Big Show to an entertaining Main
Event, and he got the 2nd or 3rd biggest pop of the evening.
Brock is quickly making good on the push they gave him out
of the gate, as the crowd is obviously into him.
