Welcome to Falls
Count Anywhere! My name is Chris and I’m almost 20k
into Nanowrimo!
Great
Match
If you get a chance, go out of your way to see Christian
Cage vs. Kaz in a Ladder Match at TNA’s Genesis. It
was such a great match that I was forwarded a note from
a friend of where to find it on the net. I watched it and
was blown away. It was almost at the Match of the Year level.
I was thrilled and even turned away from the computer and
paid full attention.
The
guys worked very hard, especially Kaz. That guy is just
a mad man, has been since his days in Ring of Honor, and
Christian was a bump-taking and name-making machine. It
was like 1999 or 2000 again when he was making guys like
Buhbuh Dudley and The Hardys look like superstars. In fact,
he should take a lot of credit for making guys in his WWF
years. The finish was nearly as good as the old WWF TLC
match finishes. Christian went over the ropes and Kaz caught
himself which allowed him to get the win. Great stuff.
Traci
Brooks, that superstar-in-the-making who is stuck in a company
that doesn’t know how to make Superstars, went down
and fainted during the Rohde vs. Samoa Joe match. No word
on why, but she’s OK.
RAW
notes
I didn’t see too much of RAW, but what I saw was pretty
good. They opened with Batista who did a weak promo selling
his Hell in the Cell with the Undertaker. It was very weak
and though he’s done a few great ones when building
matches, he’s usually better at doing angles instead
of promos.
They
had Undertaker/Batista vs. Cade/Murdoch. This was almost
a squash, and it didn’t make UT or Batista look better
and it did make Cade and Murdoch look a little like chumps.

...it's
like a really cool playing card come to life...

On the
other hand, Maria got to play fear against Beth Phoenix.
Phoenix finished her off really fast with the Fisherman’s
Buster. They’re doing a good job building her up and
Santino came out and said that Maria was gonna be OK and
then laid it into Austin, who wasn’t there, so he
decided to take his aggression out on Jim Ross, which led
Jerry Lawler to stand up to him. That led to a match later
in the show which I didn’t get to see because I fell
asleep right after this segment. It was a fun one and Santino
is a great mid-card guy who gives an entertaining bit for
the fans.
News
and Notes
Brock Lesnar will be facing Frank Mir in February in the
UFC. There’s a lot of talk about this match. Mir’s
a talent, but he gasses fast sometimes. Lesnar is untested
and there’s no knowing how he’ll perform in
the Octagon. There’s no question that he trains hard
and will be one of the toughest fighters, but he’s
not been fighting often enough and it takes time to get
used to the cage. I’m interested and want to see where
they go.
Booker is officially
TNA. The idea is he’ll work once in a while since
he’s well-off and never wanted to get too old to work.
He’ll probably be wasted in TNA, but it’s nice
to see him in a setting where he could have some really
good matches.
We’ve got
Kaz vs. Kurt Angle for the World Title at the next TNA PPV.
My money’s on Angle.
I’ve caught
a couple of the Strike Force shows on Fox Sports World the
last week or so and Cung Le is a star who should get more
exposure. He had an excited fight with some guy who was
a good punch thrower. Strike Force puts on great shows and
they’ve got one this weekend that should be fun.
Dana White said
that Sean Sherk will be stripped of his title if the ‘roids
suspension is unheld in the State of California. That’s
no shock.
John Cena’s
new DVD is said to be very well-produced. The matches show
how much he’s improved.
Edge will be
back full time for the Royal Rumble. That’s a big
deal for SmackDown! since they’re in need of a strong
worker up top, even though Batista and UT have been having
good matches against one another.
OK, that’s
all for today. More on Monday!
