Welcome to Falls Count Anywhere! My name
is Chris and let’s just do this thing!
SmackDown!
Decent edition, but there was a hilarious flaw. I missed
some of it, but what I saw was pretty good.
They opened with Batista vs. Domino in a
minor squash. I have to say that I’m liking the way
that the WWE is actually recreating the whole squash concept.
Batista hit a fine Spinning One Armed Slam. Even if he’s
not as good as he should be, Batista has some decent offense.
Spear and the DemonBomb finish the whole damn thing.
Khali gets too much screen time. They’re
just trying too hard to get him over.
The weird angle of the night that I thought
worked was they announced Rey Mysterio returning and Chavo
came out dressed as Rey. Rey took on Eugene and the match
was actually really well done. Chavo tried the 619, but
flew through the ropes. It was a nice touch. They had Chavo
throw a fit and take off the mask. Eugene was mad that he
got duped and Chavo took control and won the match. Nice
touch, but only if they’re really working on a Rey
return.
Victoria and Kenny Dykstra were making out
to open a segment. That’s just wrong.
I hear
Mark Henry had a squash. I didn’t watch it. I refuse.
I hear Henry has reupped and has a new, much lower money
contract than he had for the last decade. We’re looking
at more Undertaker vs. Henry it seems like.
Victoria
took on Torrie Wilson. Victoria was dressed as Spiderwoman,
but she did not use the Simpsons Movie version of SpiderPig.
The match was OK; it was really used to set up Jimmy Wang
Yang vs. Kenny, but Victoria used the Widow’s Peak
to get the win. I think that they need to be building up
Michelle McCool, which they started to do in the post-match
(despite the fact that they’re still portraying her
as a slut) but Torrie is hotter.
Matt
Hardy and Fit Finlay had a fun match. These guys are awesome.
They worked a smart match with Hardy and Finlay trading
a lot of great stuff. I gotta say these guys worked pretty
darn stiff. You know that Fit’s always gonna hit ya
hard, but Hardy was strong-style too with tough elbows.
These guys are so tough. Finlay, who apparently loves to
fight, has a great uppercut that hit really hard. Hornswaggle
run in! They’re really working that little guy hard.
Hardy manages to get a Twist of Fate on a distracted Finlay
for the win. Good stuff.
Kane and Sylvan wrestled. My BagelBites
dinged. I walked in with Fit Finlay attacking Kane. I actually
wanna see that feud.
Masterlock Challenge. I’m so over
this! They had a nice bit where guy who was gonna take the
challenge and Masters asked him about himself and he said
that he’d just got out from doin’ a nickel in
Chino. OK, that’s not true, but he did say he just
got out of prison. They went with a different guy and that
ended up with a quick challenge. At least they had one comedy
bit.
Khali
took on Ric Flair. This was kinda ugly. Flair could have
dragged a 3* match out of Khali in his prime. This ain’t
Flair’s prime. Flair Cheats to Win…but doesn’t
win and has to submit to a terrible looking Claw! That’s
right. The CLAW is BACK!!!
Batista
runs in and tries to give him the DemonBomb, but Khali doesn’t
go off his feet and that leads to THE CLAW!!!!
OK, the Claw is back, but other than that,
I’m not into Khali. Gotta say the rest of the show
was pretty darn good.
That’s
all for today. More on Thursday!
