The WWE has announced that Vince McMahon
Appreciation Night will be next Monday concurrent with the
WWE Draft. Jackass' Steve O, a giant wrestling fan, is scheduled
to be a part of the Main Event for SummerSlam in a program
with Vince McMahon where Steve O will be wrestling. There's
a plan for a Shane or Vince vs. Steve O match. Dave Meltzer
said that the WWE was not happy with his interviews where
he said he was going to be a part of the main event for
SummerSlam to MTV. The match is still on and the program
would appear to start on Monday.
According to the Observer Jesse Ventura,
Gene Okerlund, Bobby Heenan and Mick Foley are going to
be around. Mick might be working towards a SummerSlam match
as well, though there is debate going on as to what he'll
be doing. There were talks of putting him in with the Steve
O program, perhaps as Mick/Steve O vs. Vince/Shane, though
the plans have already changed several times.
Rumors of The Rock returning for a brief
run in November are now officially squashed. There was talk
of his return being a three week thing leading up to and
including Survivor Series. Rock's shooting sched now seems
to be too tight for even that much of a period away. A number
of things were being talked about, with most plans seeming
to revolve around HHH.
