At
least nobody else did, either...

Welcome
to Falls Count Anywhere! My name is Chris and I didn’t
even get to see Spider-Man
3!
News
The Wrestling Observer reports two sad stories from two
parts of the wrestling and fighting world. IWA Puerto Rico
wrestling Mephisto Lephanto died in the ring on Saturday.
He was 28. Never a big name in wrestling, he was around
for a while. IFL fighter Jeremy Williams shot himself on
Friday night. He wasn’t a bad fighter, and there’s
not been any reasoning mentioned.
A
Bit of SmackDown!
I had a busy weekend and I only got to see a very short
piece of SmackDown!. The piece happened to be the best part
from what everyone is saying. I managed to catch the Matt
Hardy vs. Mr. Kennedy match.
The
match turned out to be one of the best things we’ve
seen from Kennedy. They started by having Hardy work on
the arm through the first commercial break. Kennedy came
back with a Single-armed DDT that was a little sloppy. The
crowd seemed to enjoy the match. Kennedy worked the shoulder
in a way that reminded me of mid-1980s heel wrestling. He
changed things up and gave him a different neck lock. He
may not be the best working wrestler in the WWE, but he’s
got a lot of personality and works smarter than a lot of
guy.
Kennedy
and Hardy both went for clotheslines and that’s a
spot that is being overdone. Hardy went into the steps but
made a comeback that ended when Kennedy tossed Hardy off
when going for the bulldog.
Kennedy
went to hit Hardy with the briefcase, but Hardy kicked it
out. Hardy managed to hit the bulldog and then the Side
Effect and then they did another double clothesline spot.
Kennedy threw Hardy off when he went for a Twist of Fate
and then Kennedy set him up for the SteamRoller. Hardy blocked
it, but Kennedy finally got it and then went for the Kenton
Bomb, but Hardy got his legs up. Matt hit the Twist of Fate
for the pin.
I don’t
know how I feel about that finish. If they’d actually
go forward with a Hardy push that went all the way, then
I’d be for it, but Kennedy is the guy with a potential
WrestleMania main event (though he might use it before then
in a swerve) and should be kept strong. Still, good stuff.
I also saw the review of the Batista vs.
Undertaker finish from Backlash. It looked even better in
the review form.
That’s all I managed.
Sadly, I didn’t see anything else
this weekend, not even the de la Hoya vs. Mayweather fight.
I hear that Mayweather won in a kinda boring fight.
That’s
all for this week! More on Thursday!
