Welcome
to Falls Count Anywhere! My name is Chris and I'll be watchin'
it tomorrow night!
RAW
The RAW after WrestleMania has traditionally told the story
of the rest of the year. Like a groundhog peeking its head
out of the ground on February 2nd, the post-Mania RAW tell
us exactly how good or bad the year is going to be.
This year
looks pretty good.
They opened
with Cena coming out. He was booed and cheered at about the
same level. They need Edge again, or some other heel who can
make the crowd boo them instead of Cena. He said the Champ
is Here and Shawn Michaels came out and cut a very good promo
saying that he was tired of having to shake hands and say
'you're the better man' when they weren't. This heel turn's
a good idea, but he'll still get cheered no matter what he
does.
Michaels
wanted a rematch, but The Coach came out and said that they'd
have to defend the Tag Titles in a 10 Team Battle Royal. It
featured the second tier of wrestlers, save for King Booker
and Fit Finlay. It came down to Cena, Michaels, Finlay and
Booker and ended up with the Champs retaining, which lead
Coach to announce a second Ten Team Battle Royal, this time
with the bigger name teams, including The Hardys.
This was
a better match than the first because it was a good storyline.
Basically, Michaels eliminated Cena, giving the win to the
Hardys since only one member of the team had to be eliminated.
That's a good way to keep a good feud going and it got the
belts off of Michaels and Cena and onto the Hardys, which
is a good idea. Afterwards, Michaels said that all he cared
about was the World Title and the Tag Titles were muddying
the waters. Orton stepped up to him.
Vince
showed up in his hat. Nice touch. He blamed Steve Austin for
costing him his hair and that he would rewrite history and
have Lillian Garcia, my precious, announce him as the winner.
He also said that Lashley would take on Umaga for the ECW
title. Lashley then came out and took the hat off of Vince's
head. Vince then ran around trying to cover his head with
everything he could find, and ended up hiding his baldness
under Lillian's dress, which Lashley removed! This was really
funny.
To show
how far down the ladder Shelton has fallen, he and Charlie
Haas lost to Carlito and Ric Flair. It wasn't the result,
but the fact they weren't put into the Battle Royal. The match
was OK, but the finish was Haas, who is a great worker, submitting
to a Figure Four. They have a superstar in waiting in Benjamin,
but they'll never give him the push for it. It needs to happen.
Melina
came out and said she proved Ashley was just another pretty
face. Well, that and a scientifically engineered body. She
said she'd arranged a special photo-op, but Mickie James ran
down and beat on her. Nice touch. I wanna see this feud happen
and like now!
Khali
beat SuperCrazy. Why are they even bothering?
Edge came
out and said that he was the man because even though he was
broken in half the night before, he's still alive. He's taking
things easy because of his jaw, but he should be back to form
soon. He basically said that he's the one who's beaten them
all and should be the champion. Edge is the man when it comes
to promos, and he's an actual heel who gets reacted to as
a heel!
Lashley
beat Umaga. The crowd really didn't care. Umaga ended up giving
Armando the Avalanche when he was aiming for Lashley and then
Lashley pinned Armando for the win. This was a sure sign that
Lashley needs to be on the bigger show (probably SmackDown!
to get over with the big crowd. It's a sad fact that he didn't
get a huge reaction for the match, but they've got something
in him.
That's
all for today. More on Monday...
