RAW
We opened with Foley calling out Lita. There were presents,
including flowers for Lita and a baseball bat for Edge. He
went after Foley with the bat, but Foley had a barbed-wire
bat. This was a good segment and they’re finally going
the right direction with Edge-Foley. Edge is a great heel.
Why he’s not carrying the RAW side I’ll never
understand. Wait, I do understand why (HHH’s ego) but
I won’t really get it.
Kane
beat Carlito by DQ. This wasn’t a bad match at all,
as Carlito worked hard with Kane. That’s a good thing
as Kane seldom works hard for himself. Still, they used
the same ending, except that Carlito pulled the ref in front
of him to get the DQ. Kane chased Carlito after into a trap
set by Masters, Lance Cade (where’s he been?) and
Trevor Murdoch. They should be pushing Carlito harder.
Big Show was about to do the Masterlock
Challenge, but Masters couldn’t manage to get it onto
him do to his size. He did it to him a few weeks ago, right?
Masters then laid into Big Show and eventually Show got
the Chokeslam.
They showed a nice package about John Cena.
That would be a better idea if he were the challenger, but
they always treat HHH like the champ with these things.
They
announced that Tony Atlas (aka Saba Simba) would
be inducted by S.D. Special Delivery Jones. Awesome! They
also announced that former WrestleMania combatant William
The Refrigerator Perry will be in the celebrity wing of
the Hall of Fame. Nice touch.
HHH and Shawn Michaels had a decent brawl.
Shawn looked pretty good. At least H is looking motivated
again. H went for a Pedigree early, but ended up backdropped
on the floor. H really is trying to be Flair. Michaels brawls
really well. He’ll never get credit for it, but he’s
that sort of good. H did use a Spinebuster, which is my
fave of his group of moves. Michaels went for Sweet Chin
Music, but McMahon grabbed his foot and allowed H to get
the Pedigree on for real. Of course, this led to a beatdown
instead of a pin. H grabbed the sledge and John Cena ran
in and made the save. Nice, even without the real ending.
Flair
came out and did some mic work. He’s still so good
out there. He said that he’s held the title a bunch
of times and that he’d win again. This brought out
my man Shelton who did weak mic work. Don’t make him
talk; just let him wrestle.
Shelton
came out looking like a million bucks (being without Mama
helped that), and he said that Flair’s not gonna win
Money in the Bank. Flair and Shelton fought, this brought
out RVD who beat on Benjamin, including a Rolling Thunder
on the Ladder on Shelton. Flair hit RVD with the ladder.
Good heat on that one and some nice stuff.
The
Spirit Squad beat Val Venis, Viscera, and Eugene. Eugene
got some heat for his comedy, and Viscera for his gyrating.
I don’t get it. Val got tossed off the top rope and
landed hard on the shoulder that gave them the pin. The
Spirit Squad then attacked and four of them held Val down
before one came off the top with the Legdrop on Val’s
arm. I love the use of the trampoline.

Weird.
This is EXACTLY how Garcia's bedroom looks...

They
did a thing making HHH look good. Well, it did that while
making John Cena look bad. Mickie James then did an interview
saying that destroying Trish was her new obsession. She
was freaky weird crazy nutty hot. She’s like an even
hotter Victoria. Trish was watching the prom and seemed
disgusted. She was frightened by Torrie who came in to see
about her match in a moment.
Torrie
and Trish, who were feuding just a while back, managed to
beat Candice and Victoria. Victoria worked over Torrie,
including hitting a nice Spinning Slam. Candice gave her
the Downward Spiral. Wow, I didn’t know she knew that
one. She’s trying, I’ll give Candice that. Victoria
went for the Widow’s Peak on Trish, but she got out
and managed to hit the Stratusfaction for the win. Better
than most.
John
Cena beat Vince McMahon…by DQ. Is anyone else feeling
like they’re over-doing that finish? They had Michaels
and HHH handcuffed to the ringposts. This was a weird thing.
Vince always looks like a Roid Monster! Now he’ll
be the only one left after the testing gets real. Vince
low-blowed Cena and that was the DQ and that led to H being
uncuffed and HHH attacking with the Sledge.
I didn’t much care for this show.
I really don’t like the way they are pushing H and
Vince. I really don’t understand why Edge isn’t
the champ. He’s got more charisma and ratings drive
than anyone on the roster.
That’s
all for this week. Next week, all will be back with Mania
news and reaction.
