I

Welcome
to Falls Count Anywhere! My name is Chris and I got two of
them!
SmackDown!
I like SmackDown! of late, and this edition wasn't bad either.
It opened with The Miz, which is never a positive, but they
had Batista and he's still over with the crowd, even if he's
not the same in the ring.
The lights
went out and then The Mix got DemonBombed! That was the best
thing ever. He needs that more often.
Matt Hardy
and Mr. Kennedy had a really good, pretty long match. Hardy's
way more over than his push and Kennedy is at the level where
he's ready to break. It went back and forth until a great
spear by Hardy sent the two of them through the ropes to the
outside. There was a great bit of announcing when Kennedy
used the Indian Deathlock.
JBL- "I
haven't seen that since Gerald Briscoe was alive."
Since
Briscoe still does a lot of producing for WWE, it was funny
stuff. The match kept going and I'd say that Kennedy worked
harder than he has for a while. The finish was great, too.
Kennedy was going for the SteamRoller and Matt turned it into
a Twist of Fate which gave Hardy the win. Really good stuff.
MVP took
on some guy named El Latte Grande. It was lame stuff.
Paul London,
Brian Kendrick and Ashley took on MNM (including Melina).
The match was actually a lot of fun and the crowd got into
it at times. They made a big deal out of the London-Kendrick
reign of 300 days. They've been a good set of champions. Lots
of dives in this one, which is to be expected from Kendrick.
I'm a big fan of MNM and they worked really hard here. They
did the classic spot when you've got two high flyers in the
ring and had them both go for a Flying Bodypress and collide.
London
tagged and did the DropSault, kicking Mercury and Moonsaulting
onto Nitro. Good stuff. Melina gave London the Low Blow and
that allowed MNM to hit the SnapShot for the win. Very good
stuff followed when Melina and Ashley and Melina went at it
and the guys separated them. It really came off well. Melina's
gunning to be the first Woman of the Year not named Trish
Stratus.
Daivari
and Kane had a match which was supposed to build up the match
between The Big Red Machine and The Great Khali. Kane beat
on Daivari hard core, including giving him a Chokeslam on
the steel steps. This is the right use of Daivari. He's a
good worker, but a great bumper. He can take all sorts of
huge bumps which makes him a latter-day version of Bobby Heenan.
I still wish they'd bring back Clarence Mason, Jr.
The Main
Event was Booker vs. Undertaker, and it was a solid match,
though I'm not as into Booker now that he's not champion.
Batista was on commentary. Undertaker did a lot of his standard
spots and was put over big in every way. The WWE has learned
how to build their guys going into Mania.
Basically
everything looked good as Undertaker went to work and managed
to hit Snake Eyes. Booker managed to escape the Tombstone
and hit a Jumping Side Kick before Finlay hit Undertaker with
the Shillealagh. That led to Undertaker having to fight the
guys off and eventually launching Finlay into Batista. Good
ending for a good show.
That's
all for today. More on Thursday.
