Welcome to Falls
Count Anywhere! My name is Chris and I actually kinda liked
Texas.
WrestleSociety
X
The third episode of WrestleSociety X was the only wrestling
I could watch this week because of the con I was at (got
to meet Michael Moorcock!) and the fact that the Dog Show
was on USA. I’ll have a report on Monday about the
Thursday night RAW and Friday SmackDown!. The WSX show was
pretty good, though.
We opened
with The Filth and the Fury, aka M-Dogg 20 and Teddy Hart,
taking on the Trailer Park Boys. This was the kind of match
that WSX is going to become known for. It was fast and had
huge moves, but there wasn’t much selling at all.
It was a great show and the crowd loved it. There was a
lot of bizarre offense all around. There was something that
Jonathan Barker on WrestlingObserver.com referred to as
a Sitdown Double-Underhook Reverse Canadian Backbreaker
from Jug Raymond that was just freakin’ amazing! There
was a M-Dogg Split-Legged Moonsault that was better than
RVD ever did, and he hit a Skytwister Press kind of move
that was just incredible. Teddy Hart’s no slouch eithers.
That Cradle DTT that he does was even sicker looking this
week than the first time.
That
led to a beautiful Asai Moonsault to the outside by Hart
that had him land on his feet! Sweet! Things got a little
silly when Hart used an electrical wire to electroshock
poor Nate Webb, but then he put him through a table with
a Corkscrew Senton! IN the ring, M-Dogg got the pin with
the Shooting Star Leg Drop. Really good stuff and I hope
We get more from the Filth and the Fury.
They showed a
really weak backstage segment with Los Pochos Guapos. It
was just bad.
Jack Evans took
on El Hombre Blanco Enmascarado. The match was really quick.
Enmascarado was pretty solid, hitting a nice Fishman’s
Buster for a near-fall. That’s one thing about WSX,
not a lot of near-falls. Evans hit a Quebrada back Elbow
and then a 630 that was just amazing.
Matt Classic.
That guy’s awesome! The video they did with him was
awesome! They talked about Gotch, Hackenschmidt and Farmer
Burns and then showed shots of him working an old style.
It’s just a great gimmick to go with the stuff they’re
doing.
Alkatrazz
and Luke Hawx took on Los Pochos Guapos in a Table, Ladders
and Cervasas match. They opened up hot because as soon as
Chaos and Aaron Aguillara went outside, they both got a
face full of ladder! It was an awesome spot. Aguillara then
tossed Hawx up and landed him on the ladder, which seesawed
into Alkatrazz’s face! I like the story they’re
telling with Aguillara being too interested in the mamacitas.
He told Chaos to go and deliver the moonsault off the ladder
instead of off the turnbuckle, but Chaos missed because
Aaron was too busy flirting with a girl in the front row.
Nice touch.
Aaron
also turned an attempt at a Swinging DDT into a Northern
Lights Suplex onto the ladder! Chaos gave Hawx a GonzoBomb,
which is like a PowerBomb turned into a Piledriver. The
musical guest had a great line: “This is like Straight
Edge Hardcore vs. DC Hardsore.” I was on the floor!
I don’t know how I feel about the musical guests being
on the commentary, but these guys talked about wrestling
a little (especially about Bret Hart) and that Hard Core
line made me laugh. Chaos got facebustered onto a six-pack
of beer and then PowerBombed through a table. Nice stuff.
Good episode
if you can get into the style.
Tha’s
all for today. More on Monday!
