Benoit and Family Found Dead

Chris Benoit,
the best worker of the last 15 years, was found dead in his
home with his wife, Nancy Benoit, who was known as Woman with
Kevin Sullivan and others, and their child Daniel. This was
a huge blow to the remaining folks from Stampede who saw the
death of Biff Wellington over the weekend.
There's
a lot to say about Chris Benoit. He was the best worker
in the world while he was working as a top cruiserweight
in Japan against the likes of El Samurai, Jushin Liger and
Black Tiger aka Eddie Guererro. He went to WCW, but was
never widely used. He was in ECW and became a bigger star
and returned to WCW as a big star again. He held the WCW
US championship as well as the cruiserweight and Tag Team
titles.
His
feud with Kevin Sullivan was big in 1996, and it led to
him spending time with Nancy Sullivan, Kevin's wife, who
ended up divorcing Kevin and marrying Chris. It was a big
deal at the time and led to Benoit getting buried for the
better part of a year.
Nancy
worked with Kevin dating back to the 1980s. She was a valet
and was a big deal in Florida for years. She came to WCW
and managed Rick Steiner and others over the years.
UPDATE:
According to Sports Illustrated, Fayetteville police are
treating this as a murder-suicide, with it being believed
Chris killed his wife and child over the weekend and killed
himself today (Monday). This would have tremendous implications
as to his withdrawal from Sunday's Vengeance -- Derek
UPDATE
6/26/07 Latest reports say that Benoit strangled his wife
and smothered his child before hanging himself.
